Star Group-Veterans Helping Veterans has started planning our annual FREE Health Fair on September 19th from 8:00am to Noon
We have had the first of a couple of special planning meeting with members of many organizations who may get involved. Representatives from groups such as the American Cancer Society, the city of Copperas Cove, Metroplex Hospital, Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce and the Department of Veterans Affairs attended the meeting or may have an interest in participating in this Event.
The Health Fair is co-sponsored SG-VHV and by Harker Heights Medical Clinic, whose owner, Dr. Sean Burgess, is a Star Group member.
This Fair is for our homeless and/or low-income residents who may not be able to afford health care, for our veterans who are having a difficult time getting care and for our active-duty soldiers who may have questions they aren’t comfortable talking with their units about.
SG-VHV is seeking doctors of all types of practice to volunteer their time to help those most in need, including pediatricians, optometrists, general practitioners and even dentists.
