Star Group – Veterans Helping Veterans supported Harker Heights Food Care Center with a monetary donation. As we see area organizations focused on supporting the community, it is our goal to assist however we can.
When Mr. Haywood was approached by Ms. Gina Pence, Membership Director of the Harker Heights Chamber of Commerce, about the food drive for the Harker Heights Food Care Center, he knew this was something close to our hearts and agreed to support. We appreciate Ms. Gina Pence for inviting us to support this effort.
On Saturday, October 13th, Mr. Haywood, SG-VHV President and Mr. Michael Barker, SG-VHV Treasurer went to the Wal-Mart in Harker Heights to show our support. The Harker Heights Food Care Center group was in front of the Harker Heights Wal-mart collecting non-perishable goods to restock their Food Pantry. With the growing number of people in the area needing assistance, the Center helps provide food to many people within the community.
After discussing the goals and vision of the Harker Heights Food Care Center with Mr. Michael Dawson, Food Service Coordinator a check was presented by Mr. Barker.
